Thematic Edition: Physical Activity and Health in Latin America and the Caribbean

2024-04-22

Physical inactivity is recognized as a global pandemic, and the Latin America and Caribbean region is among the least active in the world. Furthermore, sedentary behavior also emerges as a growing concern in terms of Public Health. However, research in these areas is still in its infancy in most countries in the region.

This thematic edition aims to identify evidence on the prevalence, distribution, correlates, determinants, interventions, and measurement of physical activity and sedentary behavior in countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. We hope this thematic issue will gather and highlight empirical evidence in these areas, aiding in identifying gaps and directions for future research.
